During quarantine, I asked my friends to send me selfies that reflected both their physical and emotional state during isolation. I used those photos to create studies of their faces, drawing just enough so that each face would be recognizable. All drawings were printed and bound by hand into 20 books that were delivered to each participant. The result was that though we couldn’t see each other we were allowed time together, as we were, during the spring of 2020.
